Dulaglutide
Also known as: Trulicity
Dulaglutide is a long-acting GLP-1 receptor agonist that stimulates glucose-dependent insulin secretion, suppresses glucagon, slows gastric emptying and reduces appetite.
- Drug class
- GLP-1 receptor agonist (Fc-fusion peptide)
- Primary targets
- GLP-1 receptor
- Dose reference
- FDA label (not a recommendation): 0.75 mg, 1.5 mg, 3 mg or 4.5 mg subcutaneously once weekly
- Half-life
- Approximately 5 days
- Developer / origin
- Eli Lilly
- Reference year
- 2014
- Evidence score
- 5/5 - Strong
Strong
Dulaglutide has robust, peer-reviewed primary evidence: the AWARD phase 3 program established dose-related glycemic efficacy, the REWIND randomized outcomes trial (9,901 participants, ~5.4 year median follow-up) demonstrated a reduction in major adverse cardiovascular events (HR 0.88), and an FDA label backs both diabetes and cardiovascular indications.
Approved medication with substantial human clinical evidence.
Evidence basis

- AWARD-11 randomized controlled trial supporting expanded 3.0 mg and 4.5 mg doses in Diabetes Care (2021)

How to read this entry
Dose references and half-life values are pulled from trial protocols, labels, reviews, or published summaries where available. They are context for research and comparison, not a personal dosing recommendation.
Status matters: approved drugs have regulated indications; investigational compounds are still being studied; research-only peptides do not have established human dosing, safety, or efficacy for consumer use.

Retatrutide
LY3437943
Activates GLP-1, GIP and glucagon receptors simultaneously to suppress appetite and raise energy expenditure.
Tirzepatide
LY3298176, Mounjaro, Zepbound
Activates GLP-1 and GIP receptors to improve glycemic control and reduce appetite + body weight.
Semaglutide
Ozempic, Wegovy, Rybelsus
Mimics the incretin GLP-1, slowing gastric emptying and reducing appetite while improving insulin secretion.
Liraglutide
Victoza, Saxenda
Daily GLP-1 analog. Reduces appetite and improves glycemic control via the same incretin pathway as semaglutide.
